in my Town today.
I call it the Colonial Field because The Tulpehocken Path ran through it

The Tulpehocken Path
Extending along the Tulpehocken Creek from Sunbury (then known as Shamokin) to Womelsdorf (then known as Weiser’s), this path was also known as the Shamokin Path and was used by Iroquois embassies traveling from Onondaga (what is now Syracuse) and other parts of the Six Nations country.

and Because of the Colonial Coppers I found here
and the Spanish Colonial Silver My nephew found here .

Congrats again on the silvers! Nothing worth listing this time for me. I think you and I are flip flopping good hunts lately. Eventually we both have to have a good day right lol!?

Congrats on the silvers

Some big ol' houses in the background!

Thanks ! Hopefully Wednesday

Nothing like finding silver at a spot you can see from your front porch. You spent more in gas money letting the car warm up then the actual drive there.

This thread is a perfect teaching tool. The research involved. Knowing the history of an area. The fun of having someone along to share the experience. Love it!

Silver! That works.
Now.... which direction to follow the path?

although No One seems to Know where The Tavern or Saw Mill actually Stood.
The 1875 Atlas Suggests the Tavern was in the General Area Where I put the Yellow

IF the Tavern sat Like This, facing the path, Which would make Sense
being it was the First Road.

if the Sawmill was behind it as Said,

The Sawmill may have also sat where The Field is before rt. 209 was constructed.

maybe North end of Town, or Reservoir or Dam Area :dontknow:
it was probably all woods in 1812.

the rest of the town was created as a Mining Town in the mid 1800's

Ummmmm.....how about a lowly ole ATP? I'd be happy
to try and fail. LOL

Nice research. Where did you find the Aerial photos at?

Good silvers. I dug a brake disc pad and two sinkers today, in my lawn... Just don't ask....

A man after my own heart with the maps and research. Map looks like an 1868 Beers map, one of my favorites.

Jeff, yoir posts are always great to look through .Congrats on finding your silver dimes.
