Last minute stop, no pin pointer, no belly bag, & to my surprise a 2 silver day! 1892 Barber quarter, 1917 Standing Liberty. Both coins where in the same hole, under twisted up metal 1 mason jar lid and a lot of broken glass I think there is more there but I didn't have my pointer, can't wait to go back. Haven't found much silver at all in 2014, I think I found more but had to leave it there it was getting dark and it started to rain. I know what I will be doing on New Year's day!

Well done!! I wonder if the mason jar was someone's piggy bank, back in the day. Please let us know after you've gone back. HH & GL

Nice find, if that is not a pretty lawn and out in the woods, I would take a full size shovel and dig a few big scoops out and scan the loose dirt and down in the hole. You would not need a pin pointer for that.

I too am wondering if you didn't find a mason jar bank. Who knows what might still be in the ground there. Nice finds!
