Just found my first 2012 P Nickel here in Dewitt, Iowa through a brinks roll at US Bank. Saving them in case the mint pulls another 2009 stunt

You're supply must come from the Quad Cities. I get some coin from Iowa City from the same brinks boxes. Cedar Rapids and Waterloo seem to get their coin from Des Moines Wells Fargo...NF Strings Rolls, Loomis Trucks.

The numbers for 2012 are ALREADY higher than the year for 2009, so no, themint will not pull anoher year like that. SO keeping it for that reason won't do you much good.

there may be a premium on the coin right now, due to the scarcity of them, but as they become more common that premium will shrink. And it will never be like the 2009, since they are minting a normal amount of them.

Sorry to rain on your parade. I like most ideas here. This one is based on a hope that has already past tense been dashed.

But you can still find some 2009 nickels, and save THOSE. :-)

2012 Janaury through April 30th - 187MM D and 193MM P
2009 for entire year - 46MM D and 40MM P

Never even looked at that! Thanks for the info. Im going to keep them because they have an almost proof like surface. I just found a 2012 D also. Ended up getting two rolls of nearly mint 2012 Ps out of brink rolls.
