I went out metal detecting the other day to the city beaches which are loaded with people.
I did some water hunting with the AT Pro, found a few pull tabs and coins.
Then as I was about to leave for another beach which had more people on it, I got a nice target.
So I dug it and out comes a Thomas Sabo watch.
It looked gold so I got a bit excited but further examination proved it was only stainless steel so I thought it would only be worth around $50. :(
I went to the other beach, ended up with a total of $30.35, digging over 140 targets in 6 hours.
When I got home, I cleaned up the coins and the watch.

I Googled the manufacturer of the watch and it turns out, this watch I found is worth around $400.
I took off the back plate and there was no water damage inside.
I went to the shops today to get a battery that suited the watch and it turns out... It works!!!
The total of that day was $30.35 and a $400 watch, you never know what you might find.
So far this year is super, 1st hunt produced gold, 2nd one produces a $400 watch.

Edit: I just realised that I also found a silver square ring. First we thought it was junk but I looked now and saw a .925 stamp.

Anybody know the maker's mark?

Great finds, very good work in the water. It is a little too cold with all that ice in the water here (I'm jelly)
Goggle Australia maker marks for silver and see what you come up with?

Better than owning a set of golf clubs as this addiction gives back, nice going on the watch.

Fantastic finds. Heck at this rate you'll pay for the AT Pro and start paying off your CTX3030 by the end of the week.
