I hit an estate sale and was number 6 in line. Once the doors were swung open we all made a dash to the silver. I saw the guy in front of me pick up the two vases and look at the bottom and put them back down. I immediately snatched three bowls marked 3 for $15 and a small but heavy sterling plate for $11. The guy grabbed a couple other Sterling pieces so I looked at the two pieces he passed on and saw this on the back. Always check all over the pieces for marks.
They were $25 each and are 8 Troy ounces each. The are Daniel J Wellby of London solid Sterling from 1919. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1479576630.312012.jpg
I then saw this thimble shot glass an picked it up for $5. They always Sell well. A little later I saw the guy who left the Sterling vases and noticed he had the fourth bowl and told me he found it in the plated area. I worked out a trade for the heavy plate in exchange for it. Funny thing is when I checked out the lady only charged me for the three and gave me four for the price of $15. I ended up with 32 ounces of sterling silver for $75.
