This was kind of a ho-hum hunt until I found this gold colored bracelet in the dry sand.
It has a good color and good weight, but no markings besides someones initials. It does not test for gold on my GemOro gold tester. I talked to a guy on the beach who MD'd in the past and buys gold at estate sales and he seemed pretty certain it was gold. He called it "Indian" gold. Not Native American Indian, but subcontintent Asia Indian. He said they don't alloy their gold with much so it is usually 22 or 24k and it is usually not marked. He was pretty certain that is what this is. Well it's not testing positive for gold and I noticed after touching it with the GemOro pen it developed some green funk on the surface. It's not magnetic. Copper??
The silver bracelet is made by Versani and retails for almost a grand, from what I can tell. It's a honker, 155 grams. The silver ring is Tiffany and Co. I initially thought it was another ear guage when I first saw it in the scoop. Then I looked a little closer and saw there was writing, some very good writing at that. Amazingly, these are my first and second "designer" pieces of jewelry.
The tiny ring tested at 14k much to my surprise, but it's less than 1 gram.
My last target of the day was a 1950s wheat too. A great hunt!!
