I recently got a new XP Deus. I've been going back to a lot of the older sites I've been to trying to learn the machine and see if I can pick up anything I might have missed in prior hunts.

First day out at a mid-1800s house I found a few flat buttons and also a large copper that is completely worn...to the point where I can't see a single detail (not pictured).

The finds shown here were from 2 sites, a late 1700s house and a field where there used to be a blockhouse/courthouse/jail in the late 1700s.

Got a few goodies. The first is this tag of sorts that says No. 15. It looks old to me, but I'm not sure what it is from. Found the remnants of an old pocketknife at the same place.

At the blockhouse site, I found this small 2-piece button, what I think is a lipstick tube (?) and also the 1798 large cent, in decent condition. I've been over the spot where i pulled this coin numerous times. It wasn't that deep, so I just must have missed it with my other machines.

This makes 1798 LC number 4 for me!

Thanks for looking

Hello grasshopper. Very nice LC and 1700's to boot, that is a beautiful coin...still looking for my 1st coin from that century.

BTW I agree with sutphin, that is an old valve stem cap, take a closer look at it there may be some mfgr's engraving on it.

Good luck. C9

That cent is hellacious! You must have some kind soil there. My wheaties don't come out near that nice.

I like that tag too. Looks pretty old to me.
