During Easter trip to Grandparent's house in Greenville AL, my oldest children convinced me to bring the metal detectors to at a Great Aunt's house for some searching.
After several rusty old nails, my oldest son got an "aluminum" hit. Finding another tab was his first impression, but he decided to dig anyway. About 4 inches down, a token popped out.
The time periods make sense (Great Aunt remembers her parents building the house in the early 30's when she was a child). My homework has shown that these tokens were "minted"/used from the mid/late 30's to just after the war (1948).
What seems odd to me is what appears to be the name "CRAIG" entered on one side of the token. I did not find names put on the tokens in my research thus far. I did find out that CRAIG is a family name and many CRAIGs lived in the area.......
