No, literally, a lighter lying on its side. I went to a local mountaintop meadow yesterday that I have pulled some 100-200 year old relics out of before. Not expect much and mostly killing time, I got a nice 78 VDI on the ATPro under a small tree. Expected a can carcass, but parted the tall grass to see a Harley Davidson Zippo lighter staring back at me. Certainly not a relic but has the "cool" factor. My guess as to how it got there was that this meadow gets mowed twice a year by the community, so one of the mowers lost his lighter. I don't know if the "08" on the bottom means it was made in 2008. I cleaned it inside and out and it will still function when I get the wadding and butane for it!

Thanks for peeking, this was a welcomed find after a week of pulling clad and slaw, no jewelry. But today is a new day and I am going out! Happy Hunting to all, Sub 8-)

EXCEPT it is NOT butane! You might need a wick too! It takes liquid fuel.

Nice find. It has the Harley name on it & its probably a $50 - $75 lighter easy.

Thanks! You all will have to forgive my naivety when it comes to lighters, I am not a smoker, nor have I ever owned a nice Zippo lighter! As for the wick, it was intact and still serviceable! Sub 8-)

Sweet Zippo.
That's most definitely the lighter side. I was expecting a funny story.

Check the Zippo web site. All Zippo lighters have a lifetime guarantee. If you send it back they will clean it up for you. I have done that with several of the ones I have found. You pay for your shipping, of course but it's a nice service.
