Hi;

A fellow bottle digger is asking for some help trying to figure out the purpose on a rather attractive bottle he has. No embossing, open pontil with a crude top. The body style sort of reminds me of a medicine but it has a rather large top which may suggest a food. Any help?

It almost looks like a slick Brinckerhoff or Moffat, but yeah, that top says otherwise. Maybe a pickle/capers sort of condiment? It's a nice bottle though. Someone else should be able to help you out!

a two-piece, hand-applied lip - pretty old bottle - cool find!

Typically a med form, often called "utility" bottles by collectors when unembossed or without labels... Nice find, 1850ish

Pretty bottle, regardless of what came in it originally.
