They are not collectable...yet.

If you find an UNC roll - put 'em in the bottom of your safe, and forgetabout em.

Are Bicentennial Half dollars collectable? hell no!

My rule is if they're made specifically for collecting, their value isn't as high. Things that are valuable are usually those that cease to exist or are discarded along the way and the true value is realized later.

Commemorative plates? Probably not.

Circulated coins from the 1800's? Yea.

Old baseball cards? Yea. New baseball cards? Probably not.

Abraham Lincoln: born 1809.

1909 - switch from Indian Head to Lincoln profile. 1959 - switch from "wheat" reverse to Lincoln memorial. 2009 - 4 different scenes from life of Lincoln: birth and early childhood (log cabin); formative years in Indiana (reading on a log); professional life in IL (IL state capitol) and finally, presidency in DC (US Capitol dome under construction).

2059 is rumored to change the obverse profile to a more modern, "Daniel Day-Lewis as Lincoln" 3/4 profile... wait and see !
