Good luck bud, and happy hunting! I just found a new old stock DFX that is on the way too! I already have a V3i and another DFX but couldn't pass this up. Hope you have a blast when snow melts. Mark

Thanks for the advice, guys. I'm watching all the instructional videos that I can to try and get a leg up on this machine. God knows I have plenty of time before we thaw out here.:BangHead:

What?!? Pro mode is where you find the bottle caps and pull tabs that you covet!

Pro Mode is the only way to go.. Just this weekend I found a Merc that had a big nail and twist top in the same area...But with the smaller coil, I was able to swing a few directions to where I ONLY heard the coin...the ATP is a beast...ive used it for 3 Full years now, and Its still showing me things I didn't think was possible

As many think...Dont expect to just run out there pulling in 20 Silvers a day...Your finds will increase, but you really have to understand what the machine is telling you

And after digging certain junky signals...You will pretty much be able to call out what it is you are digging

Haha! I've gone rounds with Dusty in the past, always regarding the ATP. I loved her, but decided to let her go after I got my Deus. It was a fantastic machine to learn the ropes of metal detecting, and I will always consider it one of the best for that price range.

Digging no insults please...

Sorry, I wasn't trying to insult anyone really, I just wanted to let the OP know that certain people will chime in with comments just to bash a particular brand on several threads.

With as many new people joining this hobby and having that "great feeling" about getting a new machine. Its a little discouraging when certain people pretty much just want to rain on someones parade because they have a negative opinion about a certain brand.

having an honest opinion on something is one thing...But having a negative opinion on every post is different.

i will watch my comments. Sorry

Thanks, Rod! Your new detector is on its way. Some of that cold air came to Texas, so I put it in your box and sent it back to NY!
