I went on a quick crh run to a bank near my college and picked up $40 bucks in nickels. I wasn't expecting much but the finds turned out to be a lot better than expected. I found 2 war nicks (43s and 43p) 10 buffaloes (35s x 2, 36, 36s, 37 x 4, 37d, and 37s, a lot of them you can still see the horn on the back and only one has a hard to see date). I aslo got my oldest foreign coin today, a 1923 canadian nickel as well as a 38 canadian. The $40 bucks also had about 2 dollars worth of pre 60 nicks. Still haven't sorted those yet (I was just setting aside anything with a date before 1960 and I was in kind of a hurry), if there is anything good in those I'll let you know.

I also got some "free silver" today in the mail, a 1922 peace dollar. Long story short, my cable company messed up, i got a 100 dollar gift card to amazon and bought some silver (as well as a few presents for family)...I am still waiting for a WLH to come in as well from that gift card.

These finds pushed me over 20 oz for the year, half way to my goal of 40 for the year (which I know I am really far behind on haha. I just haven't had much time in the last few months to search. Oh well, hope you guys found some good stuff. HH everyone.

When I first read the title, I said to myself, "what the hell does Canada want with Buffalo? Do we have to fight over it? can't we just give it to them?" Then I realized I was on the CRH page and you were talking about nickels. :headbang:

That 1923 is the most beautiful nickel I have ever seen..
Thanks for sharing!

It's actually in pretty nice condition, I don't know how to get those black marks off of it though. I am not even sure what it is.

sorry about the glare, but I just cleaned it off a bit. I got most of the black dots off the canadian nickel. theres a LOT of detail to it, the glare is just making it hard to see.

wow thanks I had no idea. Is there a guide like the redbook available in the U.S. for looking up canadian coins?

Charlton's guide or something like that. Brits have the Spinks guide. I used the Krause for the values, however.
