Badge & possible shot...?

After finally shaking a bad head cold I got out for four hours today. I was working a trashy area of the park so the smaller 8" coil came in handy separating signals and saving me time pin pointing. The badge is the size of a silver dollar while the potential shot is about half the size of the dime. Not sure if it's a piece of OLD ammunition, but it doesn't seem like a ball bearing or anything more modern. Along with .88 cents in clad I managed to really clean up the park today....

I can make out "50 years of adventure" but having trouble with the word above - is it "piedmont?" Also can't make out the image - you really need a better picture (in focus) OR provide a description - hard to search without that info.
