It's 9 1/4 inches- is it a wine bottle ? Age? Value? It has no mold lines -

Italian Fiasco bottle probably held Chianti, would have had a straw type covering that it fit into. Value is modest. Since you say it doesn't have any seam lines, one would assume it's handblown (although I swear it looks like a seam line in the neck close up). This was not uncommon for these bottles up until the 1950's. It dates from the early 1900's up to the 1940's, being that it is of Italian origin. By the 1950's the manufacture of bottles had become more or less automated in Italy.
Though this is a newer molded version, this is what it probably looked like in the basket- http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Chianti-Bottle-with-Straw-Wicker-Basket-/140917467390?

That's my 2 cents for what it's worth.

Thanks digum I appreciate the help-I've checked the bottle again and it must be the lighting because I can't find the mold line - thanks for the info
