The USA has survived, going on 250 years, of revolutionary, civil, world wars. Many a smart man has said our downfall will come from within not external. Here's a quote to look at. What do you all think of it?

The late Dr. Adrian Rogers (1931-2005) offered the following observation several years ago : “You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the rich out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply the wealth by dividing it."

yes...so say those who gathered wealth from the labor of others, not by their own labor.

anyone who believes the us will "fail or survive" never believed in the united states to begin with.

Survive what? Self destruction? The economic downfall? A new cycle of being?

I don't know about anyone else but I've been sensing a whole lotta people in self-preservation mode. So MY question is... Can 'we' afford such selfishness?
The more people buy into this chit, the longer it lasts.
I feel a revolution comin' on. :icon_pirat:

Oh wait, Somalia is wayyy ahead of the curve.

ya'll remeber y2k Folks werent going into survival mode.... they were trying to preserve thier lifstyles.
Should America fall to less than world dominence, it will be internal. I mean who would want to phsicaly take us over.It would be a economic drain on them. We are still oceans away, hell if they did they'd find out all our stuffs made in china anyway.
Nuclear??? maybe, but the whole world would feel that kinda pain, and then it wouldent matter much. Right now the world needs America to be dominent.Thier banking on it.
We will see within the next 2 yrs

The founding fathers intent was a goverment that would evolve with the needs of the nation, like a living entitiy. But I think about a hundred years ago goverment decided the nation is to be manipilated to evolve with the needs of the goverment.

And whoever want to take America if it is up for grabs already owns most of it.

T-2,
the constitution is to protect us from the government, not for the government to control us, we have to get back to the basics

too bad for the detractors...but the reality is bush spent like a democrat...1.3 trillion dollars...now you decide that president obama, in an attempt to stabilize the economy after bush and cronies plundered the treasury, is over spending...

wow...president obama's plan increases the debt by a third...where bush made the debt all by his own errors and hubris.

you complain about the budget just passed...when it was a republican/bush budget sent to congress...

selective reasoning is so embarassing.

Is that the same republican/bush budget that the democrat majority house of representatives passed?

the people in government are our problem plain and simple. Term limits and
compensation for actual performance are called for.

I have always believed in the United States but I am not so arrogant as to think that it cannot fail when it is led down the wrong road by those who are jealous of the successful.
