Hey guys...since we're only 5 weeks away, I'm working on a segment in an upcoming episode of "Saving History's Relic Room" on Christmas gift ideas for the detectorist in your life! Everything doesn't HAVE to be specific to detecting...could be related to History, or cool guy stuff. Give me some ideas! If you actually produce something that might be a good feature shoot me a message.

Detector(s) used
F75 LTD, 1280X Aquanaut, & a Patriot (back-up/loaner)
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
Coin collecting supplies (i.e. coin folders and those cardboard coin holders).
Cleaning supplies and equipment, (i.e. dremel tool and attachments, naval jelly, lemon juice, vinegar, brasso, jewelry cleaner).
Magnifying glasses, a big one for the bench and a small one for field use.
Batteries bought in bulk, 10 packs or larger, who doesn't need batteries for their detecting equipment?
Books concerning local history. My town has 2 editions of a "Then & Now" series that is chock full of old photos and nice historical tidbits.
Display cases, which ever work best for the finds of the treasure hunter in your life.
A planned vacation to a relatives house that has allocated time for metal detecting in an area other than where one lives.

I use my detecting finds (clad) to purchase all the items I listed above. Detecting is the only hobby I know that funds itself.

For my birthday, my dear wife bought me a 12" x 15" coil and for Christmas I am hoping for a garrett Carrot and more batteries (both 9V and AAs).

I am a coin shooter who also digs relics/artifacts.

Always good to remember that there are "gal" detectorists out there too ... How about a book on old coin values, a new top notch digger or pinpointer.

A -GOOD- loupe is an invaluable tool that always proves useful... Not just for the coin shooters/collectors.

A USB microscope is another awesome tool to have in your arsenal for a zillion purposes.

Consumables - batteries, coinflips, rikers, spare pairs of digging gloves, etc... All jokes aside even something simple like a couple gallons of Evaporust or bulk jugs of distilled white vinegar may be an appreciated gift (or supplemental gift) to any guys/gals who truly enjoy cleaning/stabilizing iron relics...
