I had a good time yesterday saving some history with some good friends! We scouted some new land as we have been doing & only found one spot that produced a few things. My best & first find within 5 minutes of turning on my machine was an Enfield musket nose cap (I think model 1853). These were made in England & sold to both sides during the Civil War but were mainly used by the Confederacy (assuming where this was found I think it's safe to say it was used by a Confederate). I also found an 1873 Indian head penny & a few other relics. Lanny found the flat button, dropped it when he left & then I found it again when we went back to the site at the end of the day! It was a nice day out in the country, taking full advantage of it before turkey season starts!
