I took Miss Daisy for her afternoon walk at the river today. I worked until 3 so no chance of any pics from the morning. Usually that is the best time for opportunities and today was no exception. I only saw one egret and it was way upriver on an island. I was beginning to think a flock of Canadian geese were going to be it until I saw a couple of female Common Mergansers decide to make a stop on the pyramid rock from last week. As you can tell by the pics, the river has raised a couple feet from our heavy rains ( if you remember the kingfisher pic, this is the same rock ).

There was enough light to get this pic of a hummingbird. Hopefully one of my days off will give me some sunlight and I can get better pics. Thanks for looking!

Can't say I've ever seen those Mergansers before. Unique waterfowl for sure. Glad you had a chance to witness them. Looks like your getting that humming bird thing down pretty good now.
