Common Miocene fossil shells

Picked these fossils up last fall while looking for Indian arrowheads. These date from 23 million to 5.3 million years ago (Miocene Epoch) and are pretty common in some areas along the Chesapeake Bay. The full scallop shell with barnacles measures just over 6" across.

Not from Calvert cliffs beach, but close by.
