Hi all,

I just got into detecting and within hours found a copper disk buried 8" deep in my yard with the initials "G B" stamped on it.

It is 0.040" thick by 1.194" diameter.

It is so thin that the stamping slightly deformed the piece and there is a trace of the letters that can be seen on the backside.

Background information on the area. I'm in central Maryland (Carroll/Frederick county) and my house was build in the early 1970's.

The road that is off of (disk was found about 100 ft from the road) dates back to 1829-1831

Any idea what this might be?

Thanks!

Neat find Relics! While I cannot help with ID, it's a really cool piece. I'm sure other members will be able to help. Good luck!
