I found this cool method of CRHing. We all know that coinstar uses a comparator to use reject silver coins, we also know that if we pick a gift card from coinstar and yank out the phone cord from the back, then we get our balance in cash without the fee.

So this is what i do

Get box from bank
Dump box into coinstar
Take out the silver
Yank out cord so I dont have to pay fee
Cash out receipt
Rinse and Repeat

Sweet. But, maybe you shouldn't tell everyone about those little tricks or they wont work anymore.

dude... this is a big NO NO... don't teach your 5 year kid to do fraudulent things, not only are you "robbing" coinstar of their fee(which anybody who uses the machine should be willing to pay), but you're also going into unchartered territory making your kid "accidentally" pulling the cord. I hope you really reconsider this idea.

also, is this really the impression you want to leave your child? to scam the coinstar machine just because you're too lazy to search the dimes yourself and return them to the bank/coinstar machine the right way?

rant off... seriously dude, this is wrong. no harm intended.

That was ment to be sarcasm, but it didn't translate into text very well.

One rule I follow when I'm out in public is to allways act like someone is watching me, because where ever you are now a days in public, someones is, thats why we have all those Worlds Dumbest videos on tv these days. So anyone who would try this, remember, there's allways somebody watching you on camera where ever you are.. HH, Maverick.

Since we are on the subject of robbing coin machines, about 10 yrs ago I stumbled across a quarter video poker machine in Vegas that accepted nickels! I put my nickels in and would cash out every time I got a decent hand. My nickel credits magically turned into quarters! I bought more nickel rolls from the cage & kept repeating this process until the machine started spitting out nickels. I then left & came back the next day to get more. It worked 3 days in a row before someone finally fixed it. In all, I kicked the casino's @ss for about $400!

I don't think I could do it to Coinstar- yes they overcharge, but they have done their research & apparently, 9.1% is the magic number that stupid lazy people are willing to give away to cash in their change. I applaud anyone in the beautiful country who can make a buck, rather than just living off the gov't.

In my area, there are surveillance cameras by the Coinstar machines.

Coin Star Robs you of every canadian cent and twoonie that you throw in the machine. Might as well yank the RJ-11.
