So this week I brought my dump to the bank and was putting my coins in the machine. I had 500 in dimes and 400 in nickels. Almost everyone who came through the bank gave me some sort of a look and most people asked me what I was doing and why I had so many coins. I just nodded my head and said, old collection. What do you guys usually say to people in the banks when they as you what your doing?

And to top it all off! She bank teller who was emptying the dime back dropped it and 500 bucks worth of dime coated the floor. And then she just told me to keep dumping and not help. But it was a pretty embarrassing sight haha.

haha yeah you've got to get used to the stares in this hobby. I usually just try not to make eye contact with people. It boggles my mind that some people approach us and ask us about our money. I'm like, dude, ive got a sack of change...don't come up and ask me if i got it from the casino lol

That's nothing... try cashing in around $1000 in pennies.... :)

Took an hour and many trips to the car just to run them through the machine and filled two large bins in the process. The bank asked that next time I have that much change that I call first so they can make sure they have enough bins on hand to handle the volume.

Largest volume I've dumped is two hundred in cents and the stares were funny. A lot of people aske about them. Teller doesn't like me, I might be the cause of her back problems. ;-)

When I was doing dimes on a consistent basis I was dumping $2000 at a time

As for the comments I would just say something like "ya this took me about a week to collect" and then watch as their jaws would drop- funny funny-

I just tell people I don't like to keep my money in bills in the bank - only coins. One customer lady had a look of "whaaaaa?!?!?!"

I hate when that happens. I once had a teller forgot to put the clip on the new bag she put in the machine. I started dumping, and change was pouring out of that thing. I noticed the clip and told her what happened, and had to start shoveling dimes out of the hopper because there was no way to get it to stop. the woman was in her seventies too, I felt pretty bad

I once was at a new dump bank and there was a CRH behind me. So i went and preteneded like a dumped alot of really old coins. i went in the reject slot and there were liek 3$ in dimes (clad) so i took a little bit at a time and ran it in the machine, then i told my mother that it wasnt accepting the dimes and i read the date "1956, 1957,1964," and a couple other silver years.

The guy started to panic so i took the change put it in my pocket and as i left he asked if he could but it. I said why and he said that he "collects" them...
i ended the convo by a simple "nty"

People always say "wow how long did it take you to save ALL THAT up?"

My answer "you would be suprised on how quicky it adds up."

If I told them "oh about 3 hours" it would end up in a conversation that I really dont want to have!!!
