get a GPS and type in park and see where it takes you. I do this all the time when I am out detecting and I have found some pretty good parks to detect.

Stoney Creek is a Metro Park and metal detecting goes on there between Memorial Day and Labor day but not in the water till after Labor Day. Some guys claim they lost something in the water and they are allowed to search for it during the summer when it is supposed to be closed to detecting. Some have said that the employees get to detect the water at the beaches during the summer.
