I was just on the "Today's Finds" forum and many of us have had to slow down a bit due to the brutal heat. One member commented that his best find lately was a 1962 dog tag. That got me to thinking. I found the oldest dog tag I've ever seen a couple weeks ago, issued in 1919! Can anybody beat that?

I have never found a dog tag for a pet before. I have however found then from soldiers, I just report them and turn them in. Twice I have been asked to take people to where found them and once they where able to recover a few bodies.

A buddy of mine has a dog collection (for pets) that he has found over the years. Pretty cool stuff.

A member a while back found a banner dog tag. If I remember correctly it was from San Francisco. Well into the 1800's, maybe 1870's?

It's somewhere mothballed up in the banner, but that was a killer find.

Nice tag!

Some of the older west coast smaller town dog tags can fetch good collector value !
