This is a copper token that's significant to the local town whear I dug it! Still finding info about it. But it seems to be made by Moise K. S.F.
. I'm stoked on this dig and can't wait to find the local history behind it.
Nice token! Have been trying to find out something about it, but not finding anything, except possibly this. https://www.newspapers.com/newspage/49124881/. You have to sign up for free trial, with credit card. Bummer. I googled, "leech and palmer willets, california". Good Luck!
I always loved to find those good for 5 cent tokens. I do have a few that I unearthed though the years. MANY,MANY COMPANIES USED THOSE TO PULL IN CUSTOMERS.
Nice find! Please do consider posting your pics on tokencatalog.com There is a 5¢ token from C. E. Palmer (alone) listed there and in Kappen's CA Tokens book. From a notice in the Ukiah Daily Journal 30 Sep 1910, the Willits correspondent states that "Leech and Palmer have taken the agencies for the San Francisco dailies." That suggests to me that Leech & Palmer had a cigar store with a news counter where they sold magazines, newspapers, etc. in addition to cigars. Oh, BTW, the composition is brass which was typical for tokens of the US.
