I spent yesterday afternoon in the Confederate camp. The last two hunts, including one full and one half day, had produced just one bullet.

After an hour or so with only a couple of shotgun shells in my pouch, I got a great signal tucked under a root and surrounded by broken bottles. I assumed it was a jar lid and actually got sidetracked digging a couple of bottles before getting back to the signal. When I got it in my hand, the weight of it got my attention and after a quick brushing off an eagle appeared. The breastplate is in great condition with both hooks and a "W. H. Smith Brooklyn" mark on the back.

I'm still in shock.
