Nice score for sure. I don't find much English silver around here, not to mention 17th century English silver. What is the maker mark?

I scored several sterling items yesterday myself at an estate sale. Paid about the same $1, if you break down the amount of items that were in the lot. I'll post about it in the garage sale forum later today. I'm off to another estate sale here in about an hour. My score of the day though was the two LCT favrile salt cellars that were in that $25 lot.

I agree, we need to see the hallmarks. I don't know what I was thinking when I replied to this yesterday. I thought he meant it dated to 1681. That sounds like a pattern number if it's stamped literally "1681". Gorham used an anchor mark similar to an English hallmark but the 1681 doesn't correspond with the Gorham pattern of the same number.
