Can it be updated to Exp-2?

Performance wise there isnt any great advantage between the Exp1 and Exp 2. The speed of the circuitry on the exp 2 is quicker.The digital display shows the ferrous reading on the exp 2. The rest of the changes are structural,The graphite lower shaft and the stronger deeper mounting of the upper shaft in to the housing.
I dont believe it would be possible to update to all the changes between the models, especially if you take into account the structural changes as well.The discrimination patterns, performance and target I D are all the same. So is it worth trying to update?
