Got out Sunday for a few hours to detect Area Dirty-One.

We decided to give another section a go Sunday and it was hard going. The finds were far and few between as far as oldies go. In fact, even the clad took quite awhile to accumulate.

Finally, I decided to make my way to another portion of this parcel and got a good dime signal and was pleasantly surprised to see the Barber Dime laying in the hole. This is the first Barber Dime I have ever dug in the 7 years of detecting and I was beginning to think that no one had ever dropped one in Northern Indiana. Ok, so maybe this is the only one ever lost here

A few feet away I got a good quarter hit and seen the eagle on the reverse. When I flipped it over I could barely make out the date (no glasses on). After getting back to the truck and grabbing my specs. I was very pleased with how strong the date was on this one.

Thanks for looking and good hunting

Sweet silver DJ. Is 1917 a key date on the SLQ? Kevin

Awesome finds, congrats on your first barber. There's some more barbers out there just need to find them, good luck next time out. HH

Hey, way to go :icon_thumleft:

Thanks Ryan,

The only other Barber Dime I ever seen pulled from the Hoosier dirt was that one you pulled the day we all went to the Kroc Center Hunt and you got yours what, a few feet away from me at the park?

It very well might be.

I looked it up in the Redbook (2007) and the value there looks good for a coin of this variety.

Thank for pointing it out :icon_thumleft:
