I started off detecting a front yard of a house that was built in 1930. I didn't find anything but a bunch of clad coins and maybe a wheat penny or two. I left there to try to find another site to detect.

I spotted a church that was on a corner lot that adjoined a subdivision of homes that were built in the early to mid forties. I figured though the years that people walked those sidewalks a lot to get to the nearby commercial area.

I worked the grassy areas between the curbs and sidewalks and did find a few wheat pennies and some clad coins, but no silver. Knowing how people always like to take the shortest route, I angled across the grassy area of the church lot. Right about midway I got a high audio tone and some rolling VDI numbers of 88, 89, 90. I knew that I had large silver under the search coil before I even dug, so I cut the plug a little larger so not to hit the coin.

I popped a 1935 Walking Liberty Half Dollar that was about 4 to 5 inches deep. I detected around there for about hour more and didn't find anything but several more clad coins, a few more wheat pennies and a 1953 20 centavos coin, so I decided to call it a day.

On my way home I picked up several more permissions to hunt tomorrow. One of them is a large corner lot. I'm thinking about pulling out one of Tesoro detectors for that lot, because I haven't found nice gold ring for some time now.

My F75DST detector settings: 9.0, Sensitivity 85, JE Mode, 4H Tones, Disc Level 0, GB 61.

This was my 61st hunt for the year and my silver coin total for the year now stands at 179.

You're the man,,
Silver just seems to gravitate to your coil.
Always nice to come home with silver,, but a half dollar in silver is really sweet.
Congrats
