On only our third time out with one of my sons we found this large cent in the middle of a recreation area. large cent.jpg . Anyone around Rising Sun Maryland have some better ideas where to look.

Well I pretty sure you're the one down there that has a pretty good idea. Lol.

Nice coronet cent. Looks toasty so cleaning will either obliterate it or slightly improve its appearance. My guess would be to leave it as is.

Congrats on a fun coin on our third time out!

I would leave the coin alone (do not put water on it; usually washes any detail away forever.) You can rub a little oil from you face on the higher points of the coin; will make them show a bit better.
