Found this mineral last year and was hoping somebody could help identify it

Was found about a foot under the earth , among fallen rock from an overhead cliff, about ten feet adjacent to a waterfall. Lots of red quartz in the area.

Looks like opal in the rock matrix.Google raw opal or raw opal in matrix.
