Ghost town gold

Got out to an old ghost town today and found gold not sure if the pin is old or what it is but gold is gold. It says Geo.lauterer 64 Madison st chicago front says USA and what looks like Cmc or cllc. Hopefully it's old And military but who knows. Thanks in advance
