My grandmother is downsizing and has gifted me these things. One seems to be an axe. One is just a flake that is beautifully colored and I figured you guys would appreciate.

The third is what she refers to as the fish. She found this in a field out head hunting about 60 years ago. If any of you guys feel it’s more than just a natural stone I’m sure she would be thrilled to know your thoughts.

Thanks all!!

Nice heirlooms! Axe is a beauty and pretty old being full grooved, as for the fish 🤷‍♂️ it’s what I would call a “love rock”. Would love for it to be something but probably just a natural occurrence….just my guess though

Nice ax I’m still looking for one. On the other fish thing we would need to see both sides and straight on pictures wouldn’t hurt. I’ve never seen one like it before but that doesn’t mean anything. It was nice of her to give you some of her special finds

I agree. They will be cherished.

The last three pictures are all the “fish” two of the front and one of the back.

I believe you have posted the one side twice just in different light. It’s quite neat but I’m going to say just a natural oddity. But now the ax that’s really nice

Yes, that’s correct. Thanks for your input. That was my impression as well.

Yea it’s really pretty awesome. I think it’s convinced me to build a new set of shelves for my office so it can be displayed in a way I feel it deserves rather than on my desk surrounded by all my other neat stuff I can’t hide in a drawer lol.

That flake looks like Flintridge flint to me. Nice gifts from granny. My grandma didn’t give me anything but wisdom. She was a big influence on me in my early yrs. I learned a lot from her.

I would say you are correct. Looking up flint ridge that is a perfect match. Thanks for the info. Looks like it’s only 80 miles from me.
