Remains of a very remote gold mill and camp hidden high in the mountains.

Wow..now that is really something to see. You can just imagine
what the place was like back when it was in operation. Considering
that it is remote, consider the amount of manpower it took just
to get the heavy parts there.

Pics got great composition, as well. Nicely done! :occasion14:

I have not detected there. Hard to tell from the photo but the grass is about 18” tall. I may go back early next summer before it gets that high and give it a try. A couple of the buildings are in good shape, others completely rotted down. There are 2 beds in one of the cabins that you can still lay on! The semi flooded mine on the hillside is extensive but devoid of any mining artifacts I commonly see in mines. This mine operated in the 1900-1910 era and again in the late 1920’s. The “road” to the mine is akin to driving up a dry bouldered creekbed. I finally had to park the Tacoma and hike the last 2 miles to the camp. 7EEF9DEC-0AD1-47DD-B559-6036192AE743.jpeg
