gold panning near Co springs

Hey all I am headed to co springs in aug for 3 weeks on buis and am looking to do some panning, what are the rules and regs out your way im from ct so never done any there before any and all info would be greatly appriciated you can also PM me if you wanna keep spots quiet or wouldnt mind someone tagging along

Well, hi, sorry none of us CO folks saw your note earlier. There isn't much panning in the CO Springs immediate area. You'll do better going up to Point Bar or Cache Creek (do a search on those names on the BLM web site). Another option is to drive up to metro Denver...there's gold in both the South Platte thru town and Clear Creek.

For all these places it's pans and sluices only, no powered gear. Dig where it's wet (only) and please clean up after yourself so we continue to be welcome in city parks and open space areas thru Denver.
