GPZ 7k vs gpx 6k who has swung both for a long while? Loss of depth worth it?

Have been really researching and reading up on non dealer reviews. End users seem to have shown many times over where the 7000 catches a target and 6000 has been iffy to not detectable on deep. Same time, we can’t get a backhoe into a lot of locations.
So I am seeking input from anyone who has had some serious swing time with both and your over all thoughts.
Helping a buddy sell his 7000, if buyer doesn’t complete and all I may have a bargain buy in a few more months.
But same time we know Minelab will drop that sale price soon on the 6000 and push it back to original price.. large chunk of change don’t want to regret it
