I finally got out this summer for only the 2nd time. The weather was too good to pass up. No mosquitoes,no bug spray, not too hot. I haven't used the CTX very long over the last 18 months so I'm still learning. One thing is swing speed, makes a huge difference. With the atp,you could swing like a bat out of hell, not with the CTX. I had to retrain myself on the detector. I'm starting to get a few aha moments now. I decided to go to a couple of cellars I've pounded with pro but haven't found a thing at in almost 2 years. I did a total of 3 hours at both sites. The first cellar ,I hit a thimble within 5 minutes then a undated KG 10 minutes later. Then came a spoon. I really don't know what it's made off. Its not Sterling but not plated, maybe coin silver?? No idea but it's got a nice design on the handle. I'm not sure the age either since the way it's connected to the bowl,it reminds me of my pewter spoon, rattail. Then a serving fork and lastly a 1864 Indian in good shape. Next site I've pounded right to death and haven't found a thing in the last 4 times but keep going back since that's where I found the fugio. I found 3 buttons there. One tombac, one with a imperial backmark in awesome shape and a cuff button with design. That was a toughie,at least 12 inches down. If I didn't have a pinpointer,I don't think I'd ever find it. It was so small,I couldn't locate it.
