We haven't been out in awhile, but on Cru'Dads return he had found out we had another 2 ploughed fields we could do. They are very low priority fields with only 1 of them having anything at all & only in a very small area.
Today after a heavy down pour we battled with the sticky clay for 3 hours on the opposite side of the field to the hammered finds. Our aim was to grid & hope for 1 hammered, & we got lucky. I found one after about 1.5 hours.

17th C Bronze Skillet Handle
18/19th C Spur Bit
17th C Nipple Button
2 Livery Buttons
James I Hammered Irish Sixpence (Poor example but I only have 1 in the album at the moment)

That Irish sixpence is one that's rarely seen, especially in my neck of the woods. I have a few James I hammereds, but none like that. Nice going! Hopefully you can get back to that pit soon as I'm really looking forward to see what you pull out of there.

That's beautiful. Irish + sixpence = rare and killer find. Great find and some nice buttons too

When you say you haven't been out in awhile, do you mean a couple of hours? A James I is high on my list, great find.

Your finds are brilliant and makes us know, here in the colonies, how short a time we have been around. I'm alwaays amazed...

Nice hammered silver Cru. Your finds are always a little out of context to me..... because I could never imagine finding anything that old over here in New York. Nevertheless, always something cool to look at in your posts. Congrats!

Congrats on the James hammered, they certainly don't seem to come up very often. It looks to have been a love token maybe?

Nice hammered Cru & Cru-dad!

I have never found any of the awesome really cool stuff you two find...that maybe a good thing, too many calls to EMS to revive me and they just may stop coming!

I was just going to ask if that is a bent love token.

It seems like it, if so, its a really early one.
