This ring was gorgeous in the hole! I was already composing my post as I finished my dig. Got home and asked my wife if she wanted the honor of cleaning it up to see if it was real, I had only brushed off enough to see a stamp. The dang stamp is NF, I assume means nickel finish(please correct me if you know different). View attachment 1200991 and that nice big, fat stone is plastic :BangHead:
The other stuff includes an old lipstick container with lipstick still in it(smells the same as today's) and the only info I can see so far are the letters B U. A weird copper covered plastic thing with a hole in the middle, button?? or something else? In the inner circle at a 3 o'clock is the number 8, on the outer circle at 9 o'clock is an impressed circle. At first I thought it was the top of a shotgun shell, but it is not solid metal. 2 wheaties, a 1910 and a 1956D. ShotButton2.JPG ShotButton1.JPG

Nice finds. It could be the NF actually means Nickel Free, so it might be worth more than you think.
Nickel-Free Metals Information

The other unusual item reminds me of the old leather valves found in hand pumps eg. bicycle pump.

Thanks for the information on nickel free and the link. It's great when you learn from your finds and, of course, the TNET members!

close up pic of the ring? what a beauty

Yeah Q4... better pics of the ring. It looks good in that little pic.

I have (2) rings marked "NF"... I thought that it meant "Not Fake". Both are also marked "925".

Best of luck to you!

Awesome bling ring! Congrats! Nice hunt and finds!

I know the feeling well....it's that euphoric high...right before plummeting boulder of disappointment lands on you, crushing your hopes and dreams.

There's always next time!

New ring pics... NF4.JPG NF3.JPG
No 925 markings at all and you can see in the pic it looks chipped or worn.

Well if there's copper showing thru the plating and you positive it's not silver.
It is a really nice looking bling ring tho!

Next time I will be the real deal!
