I inherited this Celtic cross from my grandfather over 20 years ago when he passed away.
I remember as a child seeing it in his chester drawer.
He lived in NC all of his life. He was an assistant to an Army Chaplain in Maastricht, Netherlands during WWII.
I wasn’t brave enough as a child to ask him about it (or admit that I was trifling through his stuff)!
There is no maker’s mark.
I would like to know if it belonged to someone other than himself ie. fallen soldier (I never saw my grandfather wear it), who crafted it, in what country, in what year, and what kind of metal it is made of.
