It looks to be a Gorget which was worn as an adornmant or jewelry. It also seems to have had at least one more hole.

I also believe it is a stone gorget. Worn around the neck.

It looks like it might have been bigger, broke, and then 2 more holes created in order to salvage the gorget. The partial 3rd hole may have been one of 2 holes present in the original, larger gorget. Just a guess on my part, based partly on the shape of the piece, as well as the presence of that 3rd hole....

Yes it appears that it doesn't have much recent damage as the side with the half hole is as smooth as all of the other sides. Thanks for the information! My first gorget find!
