Hunting Lake Co. Indiana

I am new to metal detecting and live in Crown Point, IN. I am considering an ACE 250 and am looking into going hunting at many of Lake County Parks such as Deep River County Park, Grand Kankakee Marsh County Park, and Stoney Run County Park. Does anyone know If detecting is allowed in the county parks? Also if anyo ne is in Lake County and would like to get together and hunt please let me know.

Hello Joe -Sorry to say but this was my reply from the Lake Co.park site about detecting. ''It is not permitted. Any items found on the park grounds should be turned in to park employees so we can attempt to locate their rightful owners. In the case of artifacts, we keep those and document their locations.'' Yeah... I recieved that same email this morning from Lake County Parks. I just wish there were more properties to search in Lake Co.
