PICTURE HEAVY!!
Just getting in a hunt here and there for a hour or maybe grabbing a few hours at the end of the day and making every hunt close to home to cut down on the traveling times. So the first one is off my property had a hour to hunt before dark, and I hit an area that I thought everything was taken and this little fellow popped up.
IMG_20151009_114300717.jpg
I went to a cellar hole that really never produced and I got down and dirty, detected it with the 5" coil, then got down on my knees with the pinpointer and a magnet for a total of 5 hrs over two days hard won finds from this one, place looked like it might of burnt, or it's been used as a burn pit. The round nails were on top of the square nails and the finds are mixed below that. Managed a couple of little brass rings, the one top fell apart when I washed it up.
IMG_20151009_123831683.jpg IMG_20151009_123912579.jpg IMG_20151009_124504606.jpg
I stopped on the way home from doing some chores and this one cellar hole has given up a few finds over the years. On arrival I discovered the good field was planted in alpha and that left the corn field, so I thought why not try it as it has given up a LC or two. Sort of glad the discing was kind and it turned it over just enough to grab these in a short 1/2 hr, then I did another 1 1/2 hr was trying to get more but nothing. 1917 fish scale (2nd one of the season) 1880 LC, 1910 LC, 1886 Half Penny, and when I dug the maple leaf pin I thought now that's a fitting find on a beautiful fall day.

This next hunting spot is turning up some nice finds, close by, new permission from a farmer that hates folks even turning in their driveway but took a shining to me.:dontknow:First hunt was a quick scouting around the homesite.
IMG_20151009_123300600.jpg
Went back and it didn't produce anything worth posting. So I returned the day before yesterday and it was pretty good little hunt, so I'm glad I tried an area that the farmer said there wasn't a home, WRONG! A cool dozen buttons and a disliked 1815 token, these were the really frowned upon at the time because of the screaming eagle. 4 nice stems three with maker's marks, rosette, keyhole cover, thimble, cane band? and a barrel tap, OH YA! 1942 OD nickel that I thought was a button.:laughing7:

I stopped there yesterday for another go in the soya field and it turned up some nice keepers. Dave ID the one as being a sling buckle. The one handle has Parker & Co. written on it.Bit of big lead and a lead stylus? It was time to ring out and head home. :)

Now that's one heck of a post Jim! :occasion14:
You've been busy digging since the last time we spoke.
I love the Half Penny, the 1917 Fishie and of course, all those beautiful bells!

So, your patience in waiting for the crops to come out has finally paid off my friend!
Talk to you later this week,
Dave

Very nice finds. Looks like you have a good mix of dates there.
Thanks oxbowbarefoot one never knows what turns up at the sites.

Wow awesome finds! There is a lot less metal in the ground you've been over that's for sure. Love the clay pipe pieces! I have a question tho what is the item I circled in this picture! Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you very much coltdavis
It takes a longtime to get everything from a site, I wish they'd make ploughing mandatory every few years.:)

Congrats on some sweet finds. The bells are definitely cool.

Thanks Evolution, I never get tired of digging them.
Got another today from the same site, will post it up tomorrow.

Killed it pepp! Wow, that's an awesome haul! Congrats

Thanks Scrappy, short hunts seem to work out well.

Looks like a productive hunt to me! Congrats

Thanks Coinsniffa
It's a few hunts added up, just too busy to post regularly. :)

Thanks Casper

Those are some very nice finds. Great looking coins, & I also like the crotal bells.

Thanks Trezurehunter
I like when something on the bucket list gets scratched off.

Quite a bunch of finds, nice to be able to find old stuff close to home...bonus.
Like the watch winder not found a single one yet.
Like the 1815 token, and the big bell too.
If I can muster up a bit of ambition will go dig a few holes myself before it's too late.

Thanks Rick
I think this is my second winder I've dug in Ont. dug a few in England and one being gold.
The token is a nice addition never get tired of digging tokens.

There's still lots of crops in the fields, I hope it isn't a winter harvest for the corn this year.
I'm going to try to keep caught up in posting.:laughing7:

That half penny token is really cool!

Thank You IAMZIM

It's one of the tokens that aren't dug too often, and has a history of being issued in 1813, and then in the early 1820's as counterfeits dating 1813-1815. The first ones weren't well received as the 1812 was happening and it wasn't a great theme to having the Eagle on the token.
Awesome finds for sure, love that token.....:occasion14:
Thanks Park Pirate

What a GREAT haul of relics and coins!! I love the green watch winder in your first photo. Nice color on that little beauty.

Thanks Buck

The soils are kind in the forest on the property, maybe it was because of the large sugar maple tree it was sitting under. I just need to find a few Half Dimes like you folks are digging this year. :)

It's kind of like seeing the Trimes being dug down your way, never tire of them showing up on the postings, I wish a good one would show up under my coil.
