I have bought an small piece of "amethyst" around 10 years ago...
but I am not sure if it is natural or artificial / fake or real.
can you help me to identify? Thank you! :notworthy:

Appears to be a real cut amethyst pendant.

I use my camera to shoot a macro photo of it.. the appearance of this Amethyst is a bit raw.

usually want to look for bubbles (excess amounts) which would indicate glass/dyed glass/glass slag - the cracks/imperfections confirm, for the most part, an actual crystal.

That being said, there are a lot of people that will take a "massive" amethyst with no natural terminations and cut/polish them into fake terminations. These terminations look natural but keep on the lookout.

It's a nice piece!:icon_thumright: I agree with the others, definitely cut into a termination. I dig crystals alot when there is no snow on the ground, and amethyst is definitely one of my favorites! It may also have to do with the fact that it was my grandmothers' favorite color, and that she had some nice amethyst jewelry, I loved her very much and miss her greatly, but every time I dig an amethyst, I think of her and it's great!
