Decided to go out for a little bit tonight, so I called stratos and away we went. Was there about 30 minutes and had only found a modern penny. Then it happened. An 81 comes screaming into my headset. Dig out the plug, about 7 inches down and beautiful shiny dime comes popping out. Hello 1907 Barber dime!!!! [emoji4] Threw my hands up in excitement, couldn't believe it. This is my first silver and my oldest coin. Took me about 10 minutes to quit staring at it with a huge grin and to put my headset on and keep going. The greatest joy was finding it with my dad along my side though and seeing him just as excited for me. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1442450225.656238.jpg

The feeling you got by pulling that coin from the earth is indescribable to anyone who hasn't done it yet. They all become little trophies that will bring you back to that exact place and time when you look at them. Another REALLY nice thing, is that not only is the coin a huge treasure, but the location you found it at is a treasure. It will become a place to hit when you don't have time to knock on doors or do research... you always know that something could be lurking back at that site!!

Congrats on the Barber... beautiful coins aren't they...

Congrats my man! Nice way to start your silver collection. My first was a Barber dime, 1903. I will never forget seeing that little rascal in the hole.

You are off and rolling now, the silver should start showing up now. The first is the hardest.

Best of luck to you!

Great first silver! Mine was a 1957 Rosie but my third was a 1901 barber and I'll never forget it. My old man was out wih me that day too, and being able to share this hobby with him is better than silver and gold in my opinion.
