I have often wondered how much money gets throw in landfills every year.
Can you just see the expression on the cashier face if someone handed them a really old twenty! Priceless!

I've had a young Girl tell me "they don't take Them" with a confused look.
when I handed her a few Merks with change for a Pack of Smokes once.
After I insisted they will, she took them into the manager , come back out and threw them in
the register, probably in the save spot :laughing7:

Merks were only about .30 each then, so it was well worth a Nicotine
hit at the time. & still cheaper then a pack of smokes today.

I'd had to argue with the employees at a local fast food place that my clad Kennedy halves were:
first: real money, then
second: that they aren't one of the new dollar coins and are only worth 50 cents.

I remember reading once that more money was lost/in the ground than was in circulation.

yea I remember that also. & it makes sense.
Even here in The U.S. we have over 3oo years of coin production,
& I doubt a 10th are in collectors hands or melted down.

World Wide coins go back well over 2000 years.
we could be walking on blankets of coins by now :laughing7:

Well , all these old timers that had money really must have took it with them when they died , cause they never lost much around my area.
