So it rained all morning....had a dr appointment my detecting partner is taking the day off... So I go outside and dig my own yard. My block is from the mid 1800s but there's a lot of clean full. So I literally walked out my door and after about 30 min I get a 83-87 signal strong but bouncing. I figured it was another clad quart but hey they add up. So I dug my plug and there it was. A big....wait what the hell is this? I tinged it off my lesche and I hear the beautiful sound...silver. On the back as you could see it is stamped sterling. I cleaned it off it looks to be a large sterling broad. The pin on the back had since rotted away but i don't know what it is. Maybe it was meant to look like a butterfly. Maybe not? Well it was a great overcast day after all in downtown Lehman, PA!

Sweet!! Can't beat that, silver is silver.

A little silver to help brighten the day a little.

That is one strange looking piece of jewelry. I wonder if there were more pieces on top, like parts of a bow, maybe. Nice chunk of silver though.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah I looked for holes and tears but Theres no marks to indicate anything other than it having a pin on the back at one time. But it's def a nice piece of silver.
