Had the urge to dig last light in one of my spots Looking for deep signals cause ground is so wet after about 2 1/2 hours of nothing wife called wondering what the heck I was doing outside digging in 50mph winds. Reluctantly started way back to car and figured I’ll just pull a shallow quarter 3” down n leave but to my surprise ended up being a crusty 1840 large cent then half hour later trying to leave again a nice 1817 4” down. But what I thought was the best was the arrow looking piece cause I had a feeling it was part of a larger broken anchor piece I found there 2 years ago and it was!!! Didn’t get in much trouble cause she thought it was pretty cool finding a missing piece of an old find. Hopefully I’ll find the rest soon. 8146E237-C67B-4D38-A744-E83086EBF36F.jpeg 4E21C920-BC11-4BBF-A4C4-6998992F7979.jpeg C014757D-7033-49CD-8007-67151F111AD6.jpeg 1F3025B9-CC1D-4FBA-9734-8D62DCD0DF03.jpeg

Nice finds! Congrats on the largies! We had high winds here in Missouri and a huge tree branch narrowly missed our vehicles.

That was my 14th n 15th large cent I pulled from there, 100’s of buttons n some Spanish silver 1/2 reals. Such an open spot thousands of cars drive by every day. That’s why I only dig there a night. Trying to save what I could before they start building there too like they are everywhere else around here.

Great that you found a missing piece, and a couple of Largies to boot!
One good tip, some of the newer phones have a on/off switch for receiving incoming take-you-away-from-killer-site-calls.
And I'll deny that I ever mentioned this.
Kudos!

My Maximum wind gauge hit 48 mph on the gust recorder, and we have woods around us. I stayed inside. Hard to hunt in the wind, my eyes get to watering so bad I can't see. Gary

Nice job on the pair of Large Cents, but I think the find of the outing was the arrow piece to complete your previous find.
